“I learned firsthand that financial planning is more than just investment management or tax planning,” Will explains. “The experience of losing my father as a junior in high school has shaped everything about who I am today – even my career path.” In his desire to use this tragic event as a positive for him and others, Will found his calling in financial planning. He completed his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation in 2019, has FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses, life, and health insurance licenses, and is an investment advisor representative. “The SDT Team champions the belief that comprehensive financial planning involves evaluating all of the interconnected aspects of a financial situation,” Will says.
Will enjoys working with members of the medical community and developing long-lasting relationships. “I find fulfillment in allowing our clients to pass their worries or concerns about their finances off to our team. This frees them up to focus on what they do best – care for their patients.” One area of stress for many medical professionals is student loans. Will completed the Certified Student Loan Professional® training to become our in-house expert on this significant topic. Practice owners hold a special place for Will as his late father was also a business owner.
Keeping the longstanding family legacy alive, Will graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. Outside of work, Will likes to stay active – he is a golfer (both “ball golf” and disc golf) and is always up for a good workout, whether it's lifting weights, F45 classes, playing pickleball, or simply taking walks around his neighborhood in Charlotte - Wilmore.
