There are over 24,000 permutations of Medicare plans in the United States. As a result, finding and enrolling in the right plan for you can be a whirlwind.
Before we get to our blog, we wanted to share about our new partnership with Chapter.
We’re excited to share that Spaugh Dameron Tenny has partnered with Chapter to provide free Medicare education and enrollment support to our clients and their families.
Chapter is a tech-enabled Medicare Advisor that provides comprehensive Medicare guidance. Their proprietary technology searches every detail of every Medicare plan nationwide (24,000+ permutations) so that they can find the best-fitting coverage for any individual – maximizing benefits and minimizing costs.
This partnership with Chapter further enables Spaugh Dameron Tenny’s broader approach of providing holistic financial planning services to our clients. To learn more about how to benefit from Medicare guidance through this partnership, you can reach out directly to your Financial Planner.
Your doctors, prescriptions, budget, and lifestyle should inform the Medicare plan you select. Otherwise, you might end up with a fancy insurance brand – that doesn’t provide coverage tailored to your unique needs.
When enrolling in Medicare, you need to make sure that not only your doctors and potential hospital visits are covered but also your prescriptions. Original Medicare, Medicare Supplement Plans, and certain Medicare Advantage plans do not cover prescriptions, meaning you’ll need a Part D Drug Plan.
This type of plan provides catastrophic coverage to protect you against the risk of paying thousands of dollars for frequent or specialty prescriptions.
Insurance companies only show you their own plans, not all plans in the market. Independent advisors ask about your needs and can search thousands of plans at no cost to you. Chapter is the only independent advisor that can search through every single Medicare plan at every detail.
If you wait too long to sign up for certain types of coverage, you could be subject to lifetime penalties or, worse still, become ineligible for certain types of coverage.
Plans change premiums and sometimes benefits every year. So, it’s essential to shop and compare your coverage each year.
It is never too soon to prepare for your golden years. Remember Medicare eligibility starts at age 65. If you have any questions about Medicare and retirement or any other financial topic, please don’t hesitate to connect with our team at Spaugh Dameron Tenny.
Spaugh Dameron Tenny has partnered with Chapter (askchapter.org) to provide clients with unbiased guidance and support navigating the Medicare and Healthcare Planning process in retirement. To learn more or to ask any other Medicare questions you may have, you can reach out to your financial planner – or if you are an SDT client, send a note directly to sdt@askchapter.com to connect with one of your dedicated Medicare experts.
