Charlotte, NC – Spaugh Dameron Tenny, LLC announces its second round of GOtoGROW Scholarships for physicians and dentists, through a partnership with Bless Back Worldwide. In 2018, GOtoGROW sent five physicians and residents to Haiti and Nicaragua on service trips, with various medical specialties ranging from fetal surgery to family medicine.
In 2019, Spaugh Dameron Tenny, LLC’s GOtoGROW scholarship program is offering grants to six more physicians and dentists across the country, for week long service trips to Haiti. There is one physician for every 3,000 people and one dentist for every 31,000 people in Haiti.
“Bless Back Worldwide is an amazing organization we are fortunate to support,” said Shane Tenny, partner of Spaugh Dameron Tenny, LLC and Bless Back Worldwide board member. “The GOtoGROW program has been a dream of our firm for years and we are thrilled to send another group of passionate physicians and dentists to serve the impoverished in Haiti.”
Joanna Young, DO, participated in a trip to Nicaragua in February of 2018. “I encourage Spaugh Dameron Tenny to continue to pour its resources into physicians, resident physicians in particular. An experience like this as a resident has the power to influence entire careers. The GotoGrow scholarship enables residents who are tight on money to pursue an exciting and life-changing experience. Thank you for creating a program to nudge physicians toward charitable work. I believe this scholarship will have an effect that ripples throughout entire organizations” said Dr. Young.
The mission of GOtoGROW is to inspire physicians and dentists to serve those with limited access to healthcare. Service trips can help physicians and dentists who are feeling burned out, by allowing them to reset and recharge, and to be reminded of their purpose in their career.
