SHANE TENNY: I remember calling a client. The client answered the cell phone in the middle of the surgery. I said, Well, I just had a quick question. Can you talk? He said I was worried you were my wife calling to say that our other credit card was maxed out. And I just reflected on how much stress he must be feeling as he's about to operate on a patient. That is not a good way to be able to give your best to your patients.
JOHN DAMERON: Physicians have some unique planning situations that other professions don't. Finances are the second leading cause of physician burnout. I think it's probably the biggest mistake that I see. You know, people segment the goal of decision-making instead of looking at everything. We have developed a training series. We are able to bring into residency programs across the country to educate and give them tools that they can use that day to better their financial situation.
SHANE TENNY: We routinely see clients coming in with more than $200,000 of student loans. That creates an enormous weight as they start their careers. We're here to help whenever they're willing and ready to talk about it. We absolutely stand in the gap to help them with their decision-making on all the financial aspects that are outside of the office so that they can be better physicians and better dentists to their patients.
The team at Spaugh Dameron Tenny works to present timely educational content that benefits doctors and their unique financial situations.
