As a natural communicator, Shane originally aspired to be a network news anchor but entered the field of Financial Planning in 2000. He loves working with clients to accomplish goals with comprehensive strategic thinking and uses his communication skills to educate on complex ideas in clear, actionable concepts.

Since 2007, Shane and his partners have specialized in comprehensive financial planning for physicians and dentists. Shane explains, “Our clients have two common characteristics: they are smart and they are busy. They want the peace of mind from knowing we have all their financial bases covered, and they’ve delegated the stress to us.”

Today Shane serves as Managing Partner of Spaugh Dameron Tenny and host of The Prosperous Doc® Podcast. He has served on numerous industry advisory boards, has chaired the FPA Tax Symposium for 11 years, and has been an instructor for the CFP Ethics Program. A captivating speaker and host, Shane frequently speaks to medical groups, residency programs, and entrepreneurship organizations.

Outside of work, Shane is active in his church and enjoys riding horses, hiking the NC mountains, reading, and almost any outdoor activity. Shane and his wife, Noël, have been married for 25 years and have four children.
